Google Ads will begin phasing out enhanced cost-per-click (eCPC) for Search and Display campaigns in October 2024, with a full transition to manual CPC by March 2025 to encourage the use of fully automated bidding strategies like Maximize Conversions and ROAS. eCPC, a lighter automation tool, will be removed as Google pushes toward more machine learning-driven options.

Independent stores plan heavily for Black Friday-Cyber Monday (BFCM), with 46% reporting that up to 30% of their annual sales stem from BFCM and holiday shopping. A survey found that 34% prepare one to three months in advance, with 26% increasing inventory. Email marketing leads strategies (29%), and 67% sell across multiple channels. Additionally, 91% use analytics to evaluate campaign success.

📉 56% Say Economy Is Worse Than 2023

56% of consumers feel the economy has worsened since 2023, with grocery revenues down 3% and convenience store sales reduced by 12% according to the Upside Consumer Spend Report. With 89% of consumers relying on coupons, retailers are seeing a shift towards loyalty programs, appreciated by 72% of shoppers, and personalized discounts, while dynamic pricing remains largely unpopular.
