Google is investigating a service disruption affecting Google News indexing, causing a decrease in search traffic for content publishers. The issue, affecting all sites, was reported on Google's Search Status Dashboard, which provides updates on system performance. Google's Search Engineering team is currently investigating the root cause and working towards a resolution.
🕶️ Google's Universal Analytics Active Post-Sunset for Many
Despite Google's warning that Universal Analytics (UA) would be replaced by Google Analytics 4 (GA4) from July 1, most marketers are still using UA without issue. Some have seen a warning message that their data processing is due to end, while a few have reported UA has stopped processing data for them. Google stated the UA sunset is a phased rollout, and strongly encouraged marketers to switch to GA4. It's expected UA will cease processing hits by July 2023 and access to the UA interface and API will be cut off by July 2024.
